Course Description
Ready to ride smarter, smoother, and with total confidence? Whether you're brand new to motorcycle or have years of experience, this comprehensive, hands-on, multi-day training is designed to sharpen your skills and to give you strategies to stay safe while on the road.

This Alberta government approved course takes place in a controlled environment, not on public streets or open roads, allowing you to focus on mastering essential riding techniques without the added pressure of traffic. Through a blend of in-class learning with hands-on riding exercises, our certified Instructors provide you with immediate coaching and feedback to help you become a more capable, safety-conscious, and confident rider.

Ideal for beginners and riders looking to refresh or refine their skills in a safe, structured setting.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, you will:
  • Understand and apply local motorcycle safety requirements with confidence.
  • Develop strong foundational skills in a controlled training environment.
  • Improve balance, throttle control, braking, turning, and hazard awareness.
  • Ride with greater confidence as a capable and responsible motorcyclist.

Upon successful completion, you will receive:
  • A wallet-sized course completion certificate.
  • A Notice of Driver Education Course Completion, which may:
    • Qualify you for potential insurance premium discounts.
    • Lower demerit points by up to three points.

Prerequisites
  • Minimum 16 years of age or older.
  • Minimum valid Learner's License 
  • Open to riders of all experience levels - from first-time riders to experienced motorcyclists.
  • Any rider seeking to refine their skills.

What to Bring
For your safety, proper gear is required:

Helmet
  • DOT-approved motorcycle helmet.
  • DOT label must be on the back of the helmet with a certification tag inside.
  • A full-face DOT-approved helmet is strongly recommended for maximum protection.

Protective Clothing
(Must be made of substantial, abrasion-resistant material)
  • Jacket: Leather, heavy denim, or heavy khaki
  • Pants: Leather, heavy denim, or heavy khaki
  • Gloves: Leather
  • Footwear: Over-the-ankle boots with low heel (hiking or work boots are acceptable)
    Steel-toed boots are not permitted.

Additional Information
  • Motorcycles are provided for use during the course.
  • Personal motorcycles are not permitted for use during the course.
  • Convenient parking is available in Parking Lot H on the east side of campus.
