Course Description
Learn the basic country and western dance. Steps may include the 2-step, jive, polka and a slow dance in the first hour. Then turn it over to fixed pattern dancing!
Couples fixed pattern dances are progressive sequences of movements that move around the dance floor with a repetitive set of choreographed steps. These patterns can be simple or complex, depending on the style of dance and the choreographer’s vision. Students will be taught esthetically pleasing dance patterns that will enhance confidence on the dance floor while providing fun interaction with the music. Some of these patterns include: the Clarkesville Shuffle, the Charleston bump, the Cowboy Cha Cha and Rita's Waltz. Dances may vary from session to session, but a minimum of five new dances will be taught in each six week session, with time allotted to review dances previously taught.
