ClassGraphic Course Description
This course is an overview of aquaponics systems, their components, and their relative strengths and weaknesses under certain conditions. Focus will be on aquaponics grow methods, describing the function of the components of aquaponics systems, as well as describing the advantages and disadvantages of different grow methods under different conditions. Through this course users will learn that aquaponics functions as a complex, integrated system.

In particular, there is concentration on understanding the following:
  • The physical design of the aquaponics system
  • The components that make up aquaponics systems
  • The function of these components
  • How the components shift in different aquaponics grow methods



Learning Outcomes
 
  • Explain aquaponic grow methods and the pros and cons of each method
  • Describe the function of the components that make up fully functional aquaponics systems
  • Analyze the advantages and disadvantages of different grow methods under different conditions
